Carriage Works Theatre

Bring Your Family

Carriageworks Theatre aims to be a family friendly venue and works to make Leeds a Child Friendly City. We participate in the Family Arts Campaign offering family friendly performances and events throughout the year and hosting high quality family work during the Family Arts Festival each October Half-term.

Many family shows offer a discounted Family Ticket (4 tickets max 2 adults) which should be booked over the phone or in person as it is not available online

Children under one year old come free but will not be given a specified seat.

Prams cannot be taken into either performance space but Front of House Staff can direct you to an appropriate ‘parking area’.

Either performance space may be set-up with a flat floor rather than raked seating for particular productions allowing children to sit on tour mats so they can get closer to the action and improve their view and experience.

Child booster seats are available from the Front of House Staff as you enter the Main Auditorium on a first come first served basis due to limited availability.

Carriageworks Theatre welcomes mothers who wish to breast-feed. Please feel free to do so throughout the building, but if you would prefer a private area then please let a member a staff know and we will provide one if available.

Baby changing facilities are available on all floors in the unisex disabled toilets.

Under 13s must be accompanied by an adult.

Some productions have age restrictions applied by the companies, while others have age guidance to help you choose shows most appropriate for your family.  Please contact the Box Office with any queries.

If you are looking for ways for young people to experience performing arts with the Carriageworks Theatre please visit the Participate section of the website.
