As part of Leeds Lit Fest 2019
A beautiful country is at the mercy of a lie-obsessed king as he pits his wits against a fool in a self-made lying competition. Sound familiar?
Blending reportage and folklore to tell a story that underlines the power of fakery, this performance is a dynamic adaptation of Damascus Nights, by exiled Syrian writer Rafik Schami.
The King of Lies is created and performed by internationally acclaimed storyteller, Clare Muireann Murphy who returns to the Carriageworks following her recent performance with Daniel Morden, The Remarkable Tale of Robert Desnos. Experience a powerful performance with a sting in its tail!
Venue: Carriageworks Theatre
Performance Location: The Studio
