Join award-winning publishing house Peepal Tree Press as they launch new collections, The Ice Migration (Jacqueline Crooks, Asham Award & Wasafari shortlistee) and sneak preview Black Dogs and the Colour Yellow (Christine Barrow, Uni of the West Indies). Hosted by Jacob Ross, winner of the Jhalak Prize.
Jacqueline's individual stories have been shortlisted in the Asham Award and Wasafiri New Writing competitions and have appeared in: Virago and Granta; the Woven Tale Press; and MsLexia. She has an MA in Creative and Life Writing from Goldsmiths University. She is the recipient of an Arts Council England Individual Artist award for her writing. She delivers writing workshops to socially excluded communities, primarily older people, refugees and asylum seekers, disadvantaged children and young people. She works with small publishers to publish their stories as a way of championing diverse and extraordinary voices.
Christine Barrow was born in the UK, and lived in Barbados for nearly fifty years where she worked as an academic in Caribbean Social Development at the University of the West Indies. Since retiring she has concentrated on writing short fiction, and has recently returned to live in the UK (Brighton)
