Transformative Fiction with Irenosen Okojie

A workshop for writers who want to take audiences beyond what's expected. Through various techniques we'll mine your imagination and explore writing surprising short fiction, looking at some masters of the short form to leave you excited about the possibilities of short stories.


Irenosen Okojie is an award winning writer. Her debut novel, Butterfly Fish won a Betty Trask Award and was shortlisted for the Edinburgh International First Book Award. Her short story collection, Speak Gigantular was shortlisted for the Edgehill Prize, the Jhalak Prize, the Saboteur Awards and nominated for a Shirley Jackson Award. She is the prize advocate for the SI Leeds Literary Prize for Black and Asian women. She lives in east London.
