Terms & Conditions

Ticketing

Carriageworks Theatre is part of Leeds City Council’s Arts Events and Venues service, with ticketing provided in-house by Leeds Ticket Hub on behalf of producers, promoters and event organisers, including Leeds City Council events and seasons. When booking you are acknowledging that you agree to the Leeds Ticket Hub terms and conditions.

Security checks

For the safety and comfort of all customers, bags larger than a handbag will not be permitted into the auditorium.

We ask that you leave large bags at home. When this is not possible any larger bags may have to be stored away (a charge may apply).

The management reserves the right to carry out bag/property checks when necessary. Anyone who declines a search will not be admitted.

Children

Children under 3 may not be admitted unless the performance is specifically for young children. Tickets are required for any child aged 12 months+ that attends a performance. Babes in arms (under 12 months) do not require a ticket.

Parents are reminded that some performances are not suitable for young children.

We do not advise that children under 14 attend the theatre without a responsible adult. Venue staff accept no responsibility for any unaccompanied children under 16.

Age guidance is to assist individuals in judging the suitability of a production at the time of booking, however, Leeds Ticket Hub accepts no responsibility for any offence which may be caused.

Age guidance may relate to themes of an adult nature, language, nudity or themes/content considered unsuitable for younger audiences.

Performance and admission

The management reserves the right to change the advertised arrangements of any performance in the event of illness or any cause beyond our reasonable control. This includes the non-appearance of any named artist.

The management reserves the right to refuse admission or to eject a ticket holder (and take appropriate action to enforce this right) for behaviour likely to cause damage, injury, nuisance or annoyance or failure to comply with the reasonable requests of venue staff. If admission is refused no monies shall be refunded.

The management reserves the right to reallocate the booked seat without refund.

The management reserves the right to refuse admission to latecomers until a suitable break in the performance, or not at all, if no such break is available. Some productions may impose a strict latecomer cut-off time, after which entry will not be permitted under any circumstances. Entry cannot be guaranteed once a performance has started, and refunds or exchanges will not be given for missed performances due to late arrival.

Recording and devices

Unless otherwise stated, photography, filming, and audio recording are strictly prohibited during performances. Mobile phones and other electronic devices must be switched off or set to silent before entering the auditorium. The use of mobile phones during a performance is not permitted. These measures are in place to ensure the comfort of all patrons, protect the rights of performers and production companies, and uphold our commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable individuals. Unauthorised recording or photography, particularly where children are present, will be treated seriously and may result in removal from the venue without refund.

The venue may occasionally film, photograph, or record performances and audience members for promotional, archival, or broadcast purposes.

Fees & offers

Processing fees will not be refunded in the event of a cancellation or rescheduled performances.

When advertised, special offers may be subject to availability and restrictions. No two offers can be used in conjunction with one another. For clarity, a special offer is any offer that isn’t a standard price or concession ticket. Special offers include (but are not limited to) subscriptions, family tickets, group rates, and early bird discounts.

Schools concessions (when applicable) are intended to enable educational establishments to bring groups of pupils or students to performances at a reduced rate. They are not transferable to adults and cannot be used by groups of staff. Any accompanying adult tickets given are for an adult who is responsible for the behaviour of the children in the party.

Lost property

Patrons are responsible for their personal belongings at all times. The theatre accepts no responsibility for the loss, theft, or damage of personal items brought onto the premises.
Lost property will be held for a limited period and may be disposed of if unclaimed.

Health & safety

For the safety of all patrons, smoking and the use of e-cigarettes/vaping is not permitted anywhere inside the Carriageworks Theatre or Electric Press building.

The possession of alcohol purchased outside the theatre, illegal substances, or dangerous items within the venue is strictly prohibited. Any patron found in possession of such items will be refused entry or removed without refund.

In the event of an emergency, customers must follow all instructions given by venue staff.

The management will not be liable for any failure to deliver the service due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to industrial action, power failure, adverse weather, technical breakdown, or public health emergencies.
