Venue Access

Access

There is full wheelchair access to the Carriageworks Theatre and wheelchair-accessible toilet facilities on all floors. A number of spaces in the seating area are reserved for wheelchair users. Please let us know when booking of any special access requirements you may have. 
 
For the Carriageworks Theatre patrons with disabilities and their essential carers may obtain two tickets for the price of one via the Essential Carer Scheme. Relevant documentation must be produced to prove eligibility for the scheme. For further information and to apply, please download the Essential Carer Scheme document or alternatively contact the Box Office on +44 (0)113 376 0318 and a form can be posted out to you. Unfortunately our online sales software doesn't currently support the option to purchase discounted tickets online.

Physical disability access
Lift access to all levels. Disabled toilets on most levels. A number of spaces in the auditorium are reserved for wheelchair users. 

Please discuss any access requirements with the Box Office staff when you make your booking.
 
Visually Impaired
Our printed brochure is available in large print, braille and tape by contacting the Carriageworks office on 0113 378 7171.

Support Dogs are welcome and bowls of water supplied.
 
Hearing enhancements
A hearing loop is available for both performance spaces. Please enquire at the Box Office when you arrive at the venue. A £5 returnable deposit is required.
 
British Sign Language
Our traditional pantomime has one BSL performance each year. Please look at this year's schedule or contact the Box Office for details.
 
Parking
A variety of street parking and secure parking options are available nearby, with the nearest facilities including:

Woodhouse Lane Carpark (long stay)
St John's Shopping Centre (long stay)
The Light (long stay)
There are also several disabled parking spaces on Cookridge Street, just around the corner from the entrance to the Carriageworks Theatre.

Access Leeds Theatre

Access Leeds Theatre is a partnership between Carriageworks Theatre, City Varieties Music Hall, Leeds Grand Theatre, Northern Ballet, Opera North and West Yorkshire Playhouse. 

ALT is the first regional collective working collaboratively to improve access to theatre for individuals with sensory impairments, back in 2013. We offer 2 yearly newsletters which are available in audio and paper formats. The newsletters provide a one-stop shop for all access performance across the city, making planning a visit to the theatre much easier.
